Theme Hospital is a 1997 game developed by Bullfrog, the game is a hospital simulation game, where you have to design, construct and manage a hospital, you have complete control over all the aspects of the game from who to hire or fire, to basic things like where should the plants go? The game is filled with plenty of humour, hilarious diseases such as invisibility and bloated head make the game less serious and more fun.
The game was a massive success when it was released, and is still widely played by fans and people who just want to find out what it’s like, there has only ever been one other game released like Theme Hospital, but unfortunately it was no where near as good.
There is a revitalization project for Theme Hospital called Corsix TH, it’s an Open Source re-implementation of the core engine of Theme Hospital so that newer PC’s can run the game without any difficulty. The engine is trying to stay as true to the original game as possible with only subtle improvements to UI and gameplay, and in the future perhaps new diseases and patients.
