About Theme Hospital
Theme Hospital is a tongue-in-cheek hospital simulation game developed by Bullfrog in 1999.
You start the game with a empty hospital which you can sculpt into your very own hospital, you must hire and organize your staff, drop facilities for patients and staff and manage finances. The game is filled with plenty of humor, hilarious diseases such as invisibility and bloated head make the game less serious and more fun.
The game was a massive success when it was released, and is still widely played by fans, but the game has also been re-released many times on various consoles and platforms.
There is a revitalization project for Theme Hospital called Corsix TH, it’s an Open Source re-implementation of the core engine of Theme Hospital so that newer PC’s can run the game without any difficulty. The engine is trying to stay as true to the original game as possible with only subtle improvements to UI and game-play, and in the future perhaps new diseases and patients.
Unfortunately a follow-up game has never been made or planned, and although there are a few similar games, none are as good as this original Bullfrog game.
